Pediatric Vaccination Schedule
CDC-recommended immunization timeline for children
Why Vaccines Are Important
Vaccines are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect children from serious diseases. They work by teaching the immune system to recognize and fight specific infections. Following the recommended schedule ensures your child is protected at the right time, when they're most vulnerable.

Most side effects are mild and go away within a few days:
- Soreness, redness, or swelling at injection site
- Low-grade fever
- Fussiness or tiredness
- Mild rash (for some vaccines)
Serious reactions are extremely rare. Call your pediatrician if your child has high fever, seizures, or severe allergic reaction.
Flu Vaccine (Influenza)
Recommended every year starting at 6 months old. Best given in early fall before flu season. Children under 9 getting the flu vaccine for the first time need 2 doses.
COVID-19 Vaccine
Recommended for children 6 months and older. Consult your pediatrician for the current schedule and boosters.
Important: This schedule is based on CDC recommendations. Your pediatrician may adjust timing based on your child's health, travel plans, or other factors. Some states require specific vaccines for school entry. Always consult your child's doctor about their vaccination schedule.
